Project: Customer Onboarding Funnel Optimization

Project Objective

This project simulates a real-world onboarding funnel analysis using structured product data. The primary goal is to identify major drop-off points during the customer journey, understand user behavior at each stage, and provide actionable recommendations to improve overall funnel efficiency, increase activation, and boost early retention.

Problem Statement

The onboarding journey is a critical phase that determines whether a new user becomes an active and retained customer. However, our EdTech platform has been experiencing a significant drop-off during the onboarding funnel, especially between the onboarding start, KYC completion, tutorial completion, and the first transaction.

This project aims to identify where and why users are dropping off, uncover friction points within the funnel, and propose data-driven solutions to increase onboarding completion rates and ultimately improve conversion to first transaction.

Dataset Overview

Users Table – Contains basic user info (user_id, sign-up date, channel, etc.)

Events Table – Tracks user events (onboarding_started, kyc_completed, etc.)

Sessions Table – Captures session behavior (session_id, device_type, etc.)
